More information about Freemasonry in Luxembourg
Grand Lodge of Luxembourg is the governing body of Regular Freemasonry
in Luxembourg and there are a number of French speaking Lodges, a German
speaking Lodge and an English speaking Lodge constituted beneath it.
The Grand Lodge of Luxembourg is recognised by the United Grand Lodge of
England and therefore the members of its Lodges are Regular Freemasons.
English speaking Lodge was formed in 1974 and has more than 12
nationalities amongst its members. The Lodge building which is situated
in rue de la Loge, was recently opened to the public and had many
interested visitors. Following Masonic tradition, several charities are
supported by the members in different parts of the world.
1959, some of the members of one of the French speaking Lodges broke
away from the Grand Lodge of Luxembourg and formed the first of a number
of Lodges operating under the auspices of the Grand Orient. These
Lodges are not recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England.
